This episode of the CNN comedy / documentary series is called "Black to the Future." Directed by the fantastic, Emmy award winning Michael Steed (Anthony Bourdain), it looks at the amplification of systemic racism by our systems of technology, the importance of diversity in science and technology, and the critical role that S.T.E.A.M.(C) education plays in that endeavor. I scoured the internet for public domain archival and had a great time playing with fair use of classic movies for the sake of jokes. I got to make a real life robot shoot a laser at a 1970's evil sci fi robot, Ronald Reagan sing one of his classic lines autotune style, and put Martin Luther King Jr. on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. This was fun.
